Welcome to another edition of homeschooling resource of the day. Today’s website is National Library of Virtual Manipulatives. I used this site when I tutored college students in algebra. I also use it with Jonathan. Should Homeschoolers Compete against Other Students?

The Homeschool Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) reports that a recent city festival in Shreveport Louisiana recently tried to bar homeschoolers from competing in the yearly competitions because they thought it would be unfair to the children that went to public school. They did not say exactly how it would be unfair, only that they felt it was. I have to wonder if the officials thought is unfair because a large number of homeschoolers had won in the past, including the young lady who won first place at the vocal competition.
