Each Spring I like to highlight stories of homeschool graduates. Some graduate in large groups with other homeschoolers. Others graduate on their own. Some graduate at the typical age as any other student. some finish highschool and college at very young ages. Many get into top colleges, and some go on with their lives.

Here are some homeschool graduates in the news for the 2008-2009 school year.

In Mount Vernon, WA, 30 homeschool kids graduated together in a Knox County homeschool ceremony. Graduates included a couple of kids graduating a year early. Some are planning to go to brick and mortar colleges, others are planning to do distance learning.

14 year old Neil Turner is receivinghis Associated Degree and his Highschool degree at the same time. A few days after Turner graduates from M State - Fergus Falls, he'll receive his high school diploma through Twin Oakes School, an alternative high school. His favorite past time is studying. Looks like homeschooling brought out the best in him. 2009 Houston Area Graduates is planning a homeschool graduation ceremony at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston Texas.

North Alabama Christian School is planning a May graduation for Seniors and Kindergarteners.

Lynchburg Homeschool Leaders class of 2009 is planning their First Annual Central Virginia Homeschool Graduation on May 30, 2009.

To find out if there is a homeschool graduation in your area, visit your local homeschool email groups and ask the question. I am certain you will find at least a modest size ceremony in your area.
