I just found out about a new free online math curriculum called Khan Academy. Created by Salman Khan, this curriculum is in the form of You-Tube tutorials that covers maths subjects from singapore math (currently grade 3 with more to come) to Pre-algebra to Calculus, to Banking and money. There are also physics video tutorials as well.

As it is a new site, some of the tutorials are in progress and not yet completed.

More about Salman Khan:

Salman Khan (Sal) founded the Khan Academy with the hope of using technology to foster new learning models. He is currently an investment professional in Palo Alto, CA and has held positions in venture capital, product management, and engineering.

This online curriculum features over 700 videos uploaded to Youtube and organized on the website http://www.khanacademy.org/. You can search for videos through the website, or you can subscribe to the Khan Academy channel of YouTube.

In addition to the free online video tutorials, users can opt to download individual videos for a small fee. Khan Academy also hosts a "Mental bootcamp" in San Francisco that helps rising 6th graders deepen their understanding of algebra and higher math.

So the next time anyone asks you how you as a homeschooler can teach your child upper level math classes and physics, you can tell them "what I don't know, I can get from Khan Academy".
