Homeschoolers Get Swine Flu Too

This school year began with three girls in my kids' homeschool program (1 day a week) coming down with swine flu. That was the first week. Since then many of the other kids have come down the the ailments some getting more sick than others.

I don't know If I can really call myself a homeschool veteran just just yet because I have not graduated a homeschooler. I have however, gotten my kids to the high school stage and am continuing to homeschool them. 75% of homeschoolers (my best bet)decide to stop homeschooling by this point.

A big difference between public schools and homeschooling is that homeschoolers work to make sure all kids are successful, where public schools work to make sure a select few are successful.

In searching for homeschool news on the internet, I keep noticing ads for nannies that ask for homeschooling qualifications. I am also noticing teachers offering their services as nanny/ homeschool teachers.

Joanne Jacobs recently reported on a story where a recent college graduate sued her alma mater as she had not found a job and felt the school had not delivered it's promises. "They have not tried hard enough to help me," the frustrated Bronx resident wrote about the school in her lawsuit.
