I just stumbled across a homeschooling mom blog where the writer explains that she used to oppose homeschooling. She was offered the opportunity to homeschool as a teen and turned it down. She saw her brothers get homeschooled. Yet she saw no appeal in it.

You might think I am glad we homeschool so my kids won't have to see the upcoming Presidential address to students next week that will be fed to school all over the country. In actuality, I will record it so we can watch it later.

Homeschoolers are the butt of late night tv jokes, a writer recently stated. Being an insomniac, I watch a bit of late night TV and with the exception of one skit that included Micheal Phelps, I don't recall hearing any.

My husband and I don't discuss homeschooling much. We just have an understanding about it. It is something we do, and we live our lives around it. It is good; and that is that.

We went to visit the doctor today. The kids hadn't been there in 18 months. They actually thought we had changed doctors, but the truth is the kids hadn't been ill enough to visit a doctor, so we just didn't.

As we finish our 6th year of homeschooling and start planning our 7th, we are content to continue homeschooling through high school. People around us however are not quite as content.

I was having a meal at church and a friend said to me, "out of all the people I know who homeschool, only you and (another person) are doing a good job". They continued with not everyone's kids are as advanced as yours are.

Having a diva child, I have a subscription to the Children in Film newsletter. While we don't live in Hollywood, you never know when a local part might come up.
